a time travellers guide to medieval england -all that way only to come back with the black death
brigadier gerald adventurs some of the bet of arthur conan doyles short stories

space god scripture

reading my UFO books mainly the same cases 1947 roswell wasn't made up until later so does not appear in the 1950s and 60s UFO books , captain mantell "don't come after me they look like they come from outer space"
the really hot blonde star sisters, adamski fakes, the blonde star sisters turned into grays with an obsession for probing and hybrid breeding
where is the message there then?

gods and spaceman in the ancient my W raymond drake
smoky aerial chariots in atlantean based hindu mythology UFOs in the Rig veda ,space weapons in the ramayana and bharata tales not like any hindu scripture i studied as an undergrad, the problem was the space gods theory uses 19th century translations and quotes from scholars who believed native americans were descended from lemurians

reading history

a sunny bank hoilday weekend easter i watched the 1927 version of king of kings and was inspired to write my first easter poem fullined and minimalist
at easter i watch religously the ten comandments the 1962 king of kings and expect to watch ben hur and the greatest story ever told
library to celebrate the royal wedding i read the new world history of revolutionary anarchism 1871-1917 i haven't read books on anarchism since my student days , the assasination of trotsky bit of a forgotten figure had to say have not reade much trotsky since 1987
to counter this a history of the seaside many quotes from other sourses re bilbiography and the usual bathing machines , piers boarding houses a paean than than a trip to the seaside
to end with kim stanley robinsons 600 page novel galileos dream much of medician and barberini historical cliche mixed with rather trite tale of time travellers living on jovian moons not exactly a trip to mars

fake memoirs

i have noticed that there is comment that there is comment over irregulatities in the content and accuracy of greg mortensens memoir three cups of tea and that the original tale is myth well i have read three cups of tea and it is no different from any other fake memoir i have read
for years i believed Henri Charrière papillon read the education of little tree and believed the professors about the hitler diaries
so misha stayed home rather than wandered war torn europe and house of dolls was as true a a leo kessler novel
i wonder if anyone has written a fake memoir about something dull
a 9 to 5 job they never did, supermarkets they claimed to shop in

my current reading

for me the most exciting day of the week is going to the library
i read on average 4 books a week fifty weeks a year
this week i was still followwng my russian history trend having re read my copy of then days that shook the world by john reed and re watched eisensteins silent film "october" i couldn't help but pick up russia versus napoleon the true history of the war from war and peace.
This was followed quite seredipiously by a biography of pauline bonoparte napoleons "oh er missis" sister then i found strendahls charterhouse of parma coincidently set in italy in napoleonic times and written by a survivor of the retreat from moscow wriiten in 1839 but not as dry as i expected
finally i took out sea monsters from the bbc series a great book from a series i watched using dive footage and GCI to dramatise the seven deadly seas of the prehistoric world
wheres the napoleon connection you ask yourself - well didn't napoleons army once fight over the ownership of a fossil skull of a mosasaur
currently finding links between everything i read even through i didn't expect it
usually i like to read long book series around the theme of "viking spartigladitoris2 for example Robert low's oathsworn series the whale road , the wolf sea the white raven the whale rod with the treasure of atilla was a great read as was the middle east set wolf sea however I found the northern set prow beast just more of the same lets hope the next one is better
likewise Harry Sidebottoms warrior of Rome chronicles set 260AD and Ben Kanes Road to Rome cannot help reading each book as soon as it comes out but go tho the library as I wouldn't actually go in a shop and buy them

about me

well its a start i have been writing poetry for 25 years
in the 1990s i submitted two early works but was rejected by three (now defunct )poetry magazines since then entered two poetry competitions but wasn't placed so just put the stuff online now
my poetry has changed from long 300 word usual no war and mystic stuff to short 3 line pieces that come to me fully formed but looking back seem meaningless
